The family lived in Iowa and Minn. before moving to St. Johns Park, where they lived on the Water Oak Road. The family is listed on page 31 in the 1920 census of Flagler County residing in the St. Johns Park area with his occupation given as "Farmer - General" He was also a carpenter by trade. They moved to Orange Hammock then to Daytona.
They were the parents of five children;
