Clyde W. Harvey

January 25, 1945

We have two stories from army public relations in the European theater this week. One from England and the other from the Western Front in France.

The next concerns a fellow few of you know. He is First Sergeant CLYDE W. HARVEY, son of Mrs. Bertha Fryer who lives on the old Ed Johnson farm north of Flagler Beach on the Ocean Shore boulevard. The story says:

"Major General Horace L. McBride, commanding general of the 80th Infantry Division, has announced that 1st Sgt. Clyde W. Harvey of H Co., 1st Bn 319t11 Infantry has been awarded the Combat Infantryman Badge for exemplary conduct in action against the enemy.

Sgt. Harvey went to school in Ft. Pierce, but spent two years in the National Guard at Sanford before enlisting there on July 1, 1940.

(Ed Note: This column is proud of both you fellows; you are doing a good job and we hope it will be finished before long).
