Mrs. Martha E. Deen, wife of D. M. Deen of Bunnell, died suddenly this morning about 11 o'clock at her home on East Church Street in Gainesville, death being due to apoplexy.

Mrs. Deen was born in Baxley, Georgia, May 12, 1866, and was married to D. M. Deen there on October 13, 1880. She moved with her family to Florida in January, 1904, locating in Gainesville, where she had since lived. She joined the Methodist church when a girl.

She is survived by her husband; four sons, Dave and Tom Deen of Jacksonville; George Deen of Gainesville, Morrell E. Deen of Miami; and five daughters, Mrs. Z. G. Holland of Bunnell, Mrs. Charles M. Fisher, and Mrs. Myrtice Deen Riley of Miami, Mrs. E. F. Beville and Miss Carrie Deen of Gainesville; two nieces, Mrs. A. C. Bose of New Orleans, and Mrs. .J. J. Smith of Miami; a nephew, Pratt A. Johnson of New York, and several grandchildren. She is survived also by two adopted children, T. A. Johnson, of New York City, and Mrs. Joseph Smith of Miami.

Funeral services will be held tomorrow at the home, 809 Church Street, Gainesville, Florida.
