William H. Cochran, son of William Calvin Cochran and Martha Ann Hill, born 08 May 1866, Paulding CO, GA, died 18 Dec 1920, Ocean City now Flagler Beach, Flagler CO, FL married Louetta Sheffield, dau of Isham Sheffield, born Dec 1874, Gainesville, Hall CO, GA, died 23 Aug 1936, Flagler CO, FL. Both buried Espanola Cemetery, Espanola, Flagler CO, FL.

In the 1910 census, a William Cockem born about 1867 Ga was listed as a boarder at the Eagerton Hotel in Bunnell with occupation "Saw milling."

William and Louetta with five of their daughters are found in the 1920 census of Flagler County on page 8 with his occupation "Contractor Road Building." The family moved to Bunnell from Gainesville, Ga about 1910.

W. H. Cochran was appointed councilman in 1913 when the town of Bunnell was incorporated. From numerous accounts in the Bunnell Home Builder of Mr Cochran's road construction in the 1913's, it is found that he shelled the road from Bunnell to Espanola and then one mile north of Espanola, then he shelled the road from Bunnell to the Volusia County line on the John Anderson highway.

Also, it is mentioned that Cochran, Lambert and Moody erected a "new brick building" in Bunnell in 1913. In 1916 an account was found of W. H. Cochran and F. Vincent entering the cypress shingle business and erecting their mill on Sweetwater Branch near the timber tract southwest of Bunnell is found.

He also owned a farm, he called "Mellow Hill." William H. Cochran was an Organizing/Charter member of Bunnell Lodge #200 F & A M, formerly a member Gainesville, GA Lodge #219 where he was raised to the degree of Master Mason in 1900.

They attended the Bunnell Methodist Church. Mr and Mrs Cochran were the parents of seven children;

Both buried Oak Grove Cemetery, Americus, Sumter CO, GA.

2. Marguerite E (Maggie) Cochran, born Jul 1892, GA, married James W Brown. She was a Charter Member of Bunnell Chapter No 93 Order of the Easter Star. Issue;

(1) Jamesine Cochran (Jamie) Brown, born 29 Oct 1918, FL, died 28 Apr 2002, Tallahassee, Leon CO, FL, married 15 Oct 1940, Delta Delta Delta Sorority House, Tallahassee Leon CO, FL, Glen M Sears, 13 Dec 1912, died 25 Mar 2001, Tallahassee, Leon CO, FL. In the 1945 Florida State Census, he is shown as an adjuster and she is shown as a teacher.

They had a dau who was born in Tallahassee, Leon CO, FL on 10 Dec 1949.

3. Lillian Gene Cochran, born May 1897, GA, married 23 Apr 1924, Flagler Beach, Flagler CO, FL, Harold Abner Young, son of John Young, born 04 Sep 1895, SC, died Feb 1980, Columbia, Richland CO, SC. He was a graduate of GA Tec and in Apr 1924 was a training officer at the vocational school at Chick Springs, SC. Issue;

(1) Louetta Council Young, born 15 Oct 1925, Columbia, Richland CO, SC, married 08 Nov 1958, St Thomas Episcopal Church, Bunnell, Flagler CO, FL, John George Holst, Jr

She attended Mary Baldwin College in Staunton, VA and was a graduate of the Univ of SC. In Nov 1958, she was associated with the sociology department of the Univ of FL in Gainesville

(2) Harold Abner Young, Jr, born 27 Jan 1932, Columbia, Richland CO, SC, died 25 Jun 2007, Columbia, Richland CO, SC, married Ann Hemphill, died before 2007. Issue:

B. Susan Young, married Buck Deforge

4. Allie Beatrice Cochran, born 30 Jul 1901, AL, died 25 Sep 1995, Tampa, Hillsborough CO, FL, married, 02 Aug 1925, Bunnell, Flagler CO, FL, Everett Otis Stokes, son of William Henry Stokes and Tokie Rosetta Barton, born 29 May 1900, GA, died 01 Feb 1988, Tampa, Hillsborough CO, FL.

She taught school. He was an automobile mechanic. Issue;

5. Bailey Wilhelmina Cochran, born 15 Sep 1902, GA, died 29 Jul 1986, Volusia CO, FL, married 02 Jun 1926, Bunnell, Flagler CO, FL, Arvid John Peterson, son of John Daniel Peterson and Johanna LNU, born 26 Oct 1897, Pierson, Volusia CO, FL, died 02 Mar 1980, Palm Beach CO, FL.

She accepted a position in the law office of Claude G Varn in Bunnell, FL in Jan 1919. Avid John Peterson was a Customs Inspector in Key West, Monroe, CO, FL in Sep 1918. Issue;

(1) Arvid John Peterson, Jr, born about 1931, Pierson, Volusia CO, FL. Issue;

She taught school. He was a barber and was found shot to death at his home in Bunnell on Railroad Street shortly after noon on Thursday, December 20 1951.

7. Mary Sheffield (Shep) Cochran, born 30 Aug 1910, FL, died 20 Jan 1998, Bunnell, Flagler CO, FL., buried Espanola Cemetery, Espanola, Flagler CO, FL.
