Flagler Countians in Military Service

In October 1942, Melvin Blanchard Fuller, editor of The Flagler Tribune, began to run a column in his weekly newspaper entitled “News About Flagler Countians in Military Service.” The column contained stories about and letters from Flagler County servicemen and women. The column was discontinued in January 1946.

The compiler researched The Flagler Tribune from October 1942 until 1946 and extracted stories about individual servicemen and women and then organized them into sketches on each of the servicemen and women. He then took these sketches and put them in a book entitled News About Flagler Countains in Military Service which he published in April 2005 for The Flagler County Historical Society, P.O. Box 87, Bunnell, Flagler CO, FL 32110.
