He was a member of the Alabama Boys' Corn Club of Tallapossa CO, AL. He was awarded Certificates of Honor twice for his corn production - in 1912, he produced 172 bushels on an acre of land at 15 cents a bushel for a profit of $146 and in 1915, he produced 232.7 bushels on an acre of land.
After marriage they lived in Alabama and North Carolina, moving to Flagler County, from Alexander City, AL the summer of 1930, after selling their farm. He worked first at Ed Johnson's dairy in the Hammock, moving to Bimini in 1935 to work the Miller's dairy. They purchased the old Reynolds home at St Johns Park and moved into same in 1940.
Besides working in the dairy business, Walker was a game warden for the State of Florida, a guard for the prisoners working on "chain gangs" employed by the Flagler CO Sheriff's Office and a farmer. He was a member of the Flagler County School Board for 16 years, serving as chairman in 1950 and 1956. Issue;
