Last Friday, the work of grinding approximately twenty acres of sugar cane on the Haw Creek farm of Mr. Harvey Eisenbach was begun, the cane having previously been cut and stored to protect it from the frost.

The manufacture of the juice into a fine grade of syrup is systematically done as the juice comes from the mill, and each days grinding is turned into syrup and that stored in the gallon cans ready for the market or packed in new barrels for shipment in bulk.

The finished product is boiled down to an average weight of ten pounds to the gallon and is very clear and of the finest flavor. The weight is greater than the general run of Florida syrup and it is claimed the process by which it is made (the evaporation process) prevents sugaring.

Mr. Eisenbach estimates that he will get more than 800 gallons of syrup per acre of cane.
