Charles Benjamin Gordon, son of Allen Morrow Gordon, born about 1879, Lancaster CO, SC, and said to have died 1959, Winston Salem, Forsyth CO, SC, married about 1896, SC, Ellen Cornelia LNU, born about 1881, SC, died 28 Jun 1938, Bunnell, Flagler CO, FL, buried Espanola Cemetery, Espanola, Flagler CO, FL.
From census records it can be determined that in 1900, he was a farmer on Indian Land in Lancaster CO, SC, in 1910, he was a laborer on a fruit farm in Ormond Beach, Volusia CO, FL, and in 1920, he was a farmer in Chesterfield CO, SC.
Charles Benjamin Gordon moved his family to Flagler County in 1920 from South Carolina and purchased on the time payment plan, the old Mack place about three miles southwest of Bunnell on the Moody road toward Codyville.
According to newspaper articles published at the time, he was considered one of the county's best and most progressive farmers. He was looked upon as a gentleman of high standing and greatly respected by his acquaintances. However, in July 1923, he deserted his family and left for parts unknown. Issue;

In Jun 1956 he was home on leave between training at the US Navy School of Music in Washington and his assignment with the band at the Naval Base in Boston. After serving with the U. S. Navy he obtained a degree in Music from Florida State University.
He moved with his wife, Jane, to Mobile in 1963, accepting positions as band director of Azalea Road Middle School, and as a member of the Mobile Symphony Orchestra.
During the Summer season, Gordon captained the charter boat "Teacher's Pet" in Panama City, Florida, for seven years. He was the owner of M&S Music Store for 45 years.
Lovelace (or Love letter as we called him) was an accomplished French hornist and played for many symphonies, including Mobile, Gulf Coast, Pensacola, Meridian, Mobile Opera, and the Florida Symphony in Jacksonville. Issue;
