In the Bunnell Home Builder of Sept 1917 is the account of W E Kudrna purchasing an interest in the Bunnell Garage and Auto Company and assuming entire charge as manager.

In the Nov 1917 edition of the aforementioned newspaper it was noted that C A Smith and W H Deen had purchased the Bunnell Garage and Auto Company from Messrs J E Jones and W E Kudrna.

From the above newspaper articles it would appear that Bill was a resident prior to the 1920 census but was not living here when the census was taken.

On 30 Jun 1924, Bill and Earl Brockett dissolved their partnership in The Service Garage which they had owned since 1922. Kudrna bought out Brockett. In addition to running the mechanical end of the business, Kudrna continued to handle the sale and service of Star, Durant and Flint automobiles.

In the Flagler Tribune of 5 May 1927 it states: "Kudrna Chevrolet Company is the new name of an old established business in Bunnell, when the Service Garage signed up for direct dealer in Chevrolet cars, the change being made last Friday.......

In May 1931, it was announced that the Bunnell Hardware Company had acquired the contact for the erection of a new building for the Kudrna Chevrolet Company. The new building was to be 40 feet by forty feet in size. It was to be of frame sheeted with iron. Plans provided for a parts department, a show room and an office. Three sides of the building are largely of plate glass.

In addition to the aforementioned structure, a modern filling station was also to be constructed at the same time, the station to be of the "canopy" type. According to an advertisement in the program of a play given at Bunnell High School in 1936, W. E. Kudrna was the owner of the Kudrna Motor Company which dealt in Chevrolet Cars and Trucks.
