EARL HUGHSON LYNCH

Earl Hughson Lynch, son of George Bell Lynch and Adeline Hughson, was born 02 Apr 1878, Darlington, Montgomery CO, IN, died 18 Oct 1962, Hialeah, Dade CO, FL. He married Bertha Snow, dau of Paul A Snow and Cora Bertha Perry, born 03 Jun 1889, Pedro, Marion CO, FL, died 20 Oct 1949, Daytona Beach, Volusia CO, FL.

Earl was a dragline operator and was employed by John Campbell of Palatka. His work took him to various places in Florida including Gainesville, Osteen, Daytona Beach, Fellsmer as well as Palatka. When the depression came and dragline work was very scarce, he moved his family to Shell Bluff and operated a farm for John Campbell. Later he worked in the pulpwood industry.

Bertha taught school one year at Shell Bluff and was then transferred to the Gilbert School at St Johns Park where she taught from 1935 until the school was closed in 1941. The family moved to Palatka about 1942. Issue;

1. Loris M Lynch, born 07 Mar 1922, Palatka, married 1944, Palatka, Putnam CO, FL, Melvin R Burns

She attended Bunnell High School for four years, graduating in 1939 and graduated from the Florida State College of Women in 1943.

He served in the U.S. Navy. He then worked 35 years for the Florida Department of Employment Security in Palatka, Daytona Beach and Miami, retiring from Tallahassee as a Unemployment Compensation Field Supervisor in 1978. They then moved to the Half Moon area of the Ocala National Forest.
