Louis Theodore Nieland

Louis Theodore. Nieland, born 07 Dec l891, Liebeck, Germany, died 13 Nov 1981, Alachua CO, FL, married about 1922, Adelaide C Owens, born 28 Sep 1893, NY, died 15 Dec 1980, Alachua CO, FL.

He was living in Alachua CO, FL in 1917 where he was a farming foreman for the State Expermentental Farm in Gainesville. He came to the St. Johns Park area prior to 1920 and is listed in the census on page 34, single, occupation "Farmer."

He served in World War I. The family lived in St. John Park where he farmed and then became County Agent. As County Agent he was very active with the 4H Clubs. He organized the first 4H Forestry Club in Florida prior to July 1931.

In July 1931 the family moved to Trenton, Florida. They were the parents of two sons;

1. Robert Braun Nieland, born 22 Sep1923, St Johns Park, Flagler CO, FL, died 01 Sep 2004, Solon, Johnson CO, IA. He married 1947, Alachua CO, FL (Unknown)

2. David Owens Nieland, born 13 Mar 1925, St Johns Park, Flagler CO, FL, died 04 Sep 1998, Alachua CO, FL, buried Newansville Cemetery, Alachua CO, FL married 19 Oct 1952, Alachua CO, FL, Marion Lewis, born about 1924, FL. He served in the US Army Air Corps in WW II. Issue; four girls and a boy.
