Henry W. Poff

Henry W. Poff born around 1866 in PA, died 13 Apr 1927, Palatka, Putnam CO, FL, married and Sara F. (LNU) born about 1869, Red Lion, York CO, NY, died 13 Oct 1931, Haw Creek, Putnam CO, FL. Both buried Red Lion, York CO, NY.

The family came to now Flagler County around 1915 and is found on page 26 of the 1920 census of Flagler County, with his occupation given as farm manager. The Bunnell Home Builder contains several article of his managing The Keystone Farms Company and his excellent production - - he was one of the county's most successful potato growers.

She died after apparently being kicked by a young heifer while she was breaking the animal to being milked. The accident occurred in the milking barn on the Poff farm in the Haw Creek section. Mrs. Poff was alone at the time of the accident, but was found shortly after by her son-in-law, Don Nolan, who had returned to the barn for oil to lubricate some farm machinery which he was using that day.

It was said that he found Mrs. Poff lying on the concrete floor of the barn near the penned-up heifer, and that Nolan carried Mrs. Poff into the house where she died without regaining consciousness.

They were the parents of one daughter;
