Abraham D (Abram) Richardson

 

Abraham D (Abram) Richardson, son of John Richardson and Elizabeth Strickland was born on 03 Mar 1866 in Barberville, Volusia County, Florida and died on 29 Oct 1947 in Barberville, Volusia County, Florida. He married on 14 Apr 1900 in Barberville, Volusia County, Florida Ruth Stone, daughter of William H. Stone and Diadema Guess who was born on 13 Nov 1881 in Emporia, Volusia County, Florida and died on 15 Jun 1968 in Jacksonville, Duval County, Florida. Both are buried in Midway Methodist Church Cemetery, in Barberville, Volusia County, Florida.           

They moved to St Johns Park in 1917 where she taught at the Sonny Malphurs= School. The family is listed on page 37 of the 1920 census of Flagler Co, residing in the St. Johns Park area, with his occupation given as "Farmer, General" and her occupation given as "Teacher, Public School."  

They then moved to the George Buckles home in Sep 1921 so she could teach at the nearby Gilbert School before moving back to Seville, FL. They were the parents of six children;

1. Elsie Lucile Richardson was born in Barberville, Volusia County, Florida on 08 Nov 1903, and died in Barberville, Volusia County, Florida on 17 Feb 1905.

2. Wallace Kennedy Richardson, was born in Barberville, Volusia County, Florida on 29 Dec 1905 and died in Barberville, Volusia County, Florida on 25 Feb 1907.

3. Faith Elizabeth Richardson was born on 04 Dec 1908 in Colahatchee, Dade County, Florida and died in Decatur, Decatur County, Georgia on 16 Jun 2003. She married between 1930 and 1935, Avis Isham Raulerson, son of Stephen Franklin Raulerson and Clara Virginia (Jennie) Moody, born 03 May 1906, Seville, Volusia CO, FL, died 25 Dec 2002, FL (Divorced - 1937)

Faith Richardson Robinson married 2nd, on 10 Feb 1937 in Clay County, Florida, Roy Franklin Robinson, son of William Lemuel Robinson and Neasey Salome Austin who was born in DeKalb County, Georgia on 18 Jul 1904 and who died on 01 Feb 1985 in DeKalb County, Georgia.

4. Sadie Ruth Richardson was born on 18 Nov 1912 in Barberville, Volusia County, Florida and died 02 Jul 2004 in the Lakewood Nursing Center, Crescent City, Putnam County, Florida, She was married on 18 Jul 1931 in Jacksonville, Duval County, Florida, to Leamon William Raulerson, son of Stephen Franklin Raulerson and Clara Virginia (Jennie) Moody who was born on 28 Feb 1908 in Seville, Volusia County, Florida and who died on 19 May 2001 in Putnam County, Florida. Both are buried in Seville Cemetery, Seville, Volusia County, Florida.

She attended business school in Jacksonville. A descendant of pioneering Flagler and Volusia county families, she lived most of her life in this area, except from 1931‑1947, when she and her husband, Leamon, worked for Greyhound in Jacksonville. Until 1979, she worked for Peoples Bank/Barnett/Sun Trust in Crescent City. She was best known for her musical talent on the organ and piano, and was organist at Howe Memorial United Methodist Church for 38 years, as well as pianist for the Order of the Eastern Star. He was a 32nd degree Mason. They resided in Crescent City. Issue;

(1) Patricia Elizabeth Raulerson was born on 17 Feb 1938 in Jacksonville, Duval County, Florida and married 16 Jul 1966, William Leroy Maden II, son of William Leroy Maden and Lucy Agnes Henard who was born on 19 Oct 1931 in Augusta, Columbia County, Georgia and who died on 29 Apr 2015 in Crescent City, Putnam County, Georgia. They met in New York City in 1964.

Bill graduated from Emory University in Atlanta followed by medical school at the University of Tennessee. He enrolled in the Psychoanalytic Institute of Columbia University in 1962 and practiced psychiatry in New York City from 1962 to 1979, Bill then moved to the medical school at East Tennessee University where he became the Psychiatric Residency Training Director. In 1995 the Maden’s moved to Florida where became the Director of Mental Healtha at the Daytona Beach Veterans Administration Clinic. Issue;

B. Carter Lee Maden, born 10 May 1974 who married Rebecca C Krueger in San Juan County, Washington on 02 Jun 2001  

C. Sarah Elizabeth Maden, born 01 Apr 1977

5. Floyd Abram Richardson was born on 22 Mar 1915 in Barberville, Volusia County, Florida and died on 31 Oct 1994 in Jacksonville, Duval County, Florida. Floyd married on 01 Jan 1946 in Seville, Volusia County, Florida, Alma Kate Causey, daughter of Marion Osteen Causey and Kate Alma Deen. Kate was born on 08 Dec 1914 in Florida and died on 08 Dec 1997 in Seminole County, Florida. Issue;

(1) Thyra Jean Richardson who was born on 05 Jan 1948 married on 07 Oct 1972 in Duval County, Florida James Allen Dunn who was the son of James Russell Dunn and Alberta McCarty. James was born on 17 Jan 1940 in Wayne, McClain County, Oklahoma and died on 02 May 2012 in Columbia, Manury County, Tennessee. He is buried in Hillside Cemetery, Purcell, McClain County, Oklahoma. Issue;

A. Amy Kate Dunn who married on 24 Mar 1995 in Seminole County, Florida Philip Pauerstein Carter. Issue;

6. Thyra Foethel Richardson was born on 05 May 1917 in Florida City, Dade County, Florida and died on 24 Nov 1987 in Duval County, Florida. She married on 05 Oct 1940 in Green Cove Springs, Clay County, Florida, Jack Bert Majors, son of Thomas A. and Pearl Elizabeth Majors. Jack was born on 12 Nov 1912 and died on 27 Jan 1991 in Duval County, Florida. Both are buried in Riverside Memorial Park, Jacksonville, Duval County, Florida.
