. Zeno Worth Richardson


Zeno Worth “Uncle Dick” Richardson, son of Worth Zeno Richardson and Martha Wallace, was born on 18 July 1870 in Moore County, North Caroline and died on 07 Mar 1931 in St. Augustine, St Johns County, Florida. He was married on 10 Jan 1897 in Appling County, Georgia to Elizabeth Elmira (Lizzie) Deen, daughter of Henry Deen and Nancy Miles. She was born on 07 Jun 1868 in Baxley, Appling County, Georgia and died on 15 Jan 1947 in Bunnell, Flagler County, Florida. Both are buried in Espanola Cemetery, Espanola, Flagler County, Florida.

Uncle Dick was a farmer in Appling County, Georgia and in 1900, he, Lizzie and their daughter Murtice, were living in Chipley, Washington County, Florida where he was working in a turpentine distillery. The family then moved to Espanola where Lizzie's brothers, William Henry “Doc” Deen and Robert Williams Deen were engaged in the turpentine business. They later resided at St. Joe Still in present-day Palm Coast near the McDonald’s Restaurant on Old Kings Road, moving to Bunnell in the late 1910’s.

He was a Charter Member of Bunnell Lodge #200 F & A M and when Flagler County was created in 1917, he was appointed by Governor Sidney Johnston Catts to serve as a County Commissioner. Uncle Dick and Lizzie Richardson were the parents of one child;

1. Murtice Richardson was born on 06 Nov 1897 in Baxley, Appling County, Georgia and died on 26 Aug 1977 at her home in Orlando, Orange County, Florida. She was married on 05 Jan 1919 at the Richardson Home in St Joseph, Flagler County, Florida by Rev R. L. Ramsey, to Dewey D. Moody, son of Robert Moody and Martha Nancy Barber. Dewey was born on 04 Jun 1899 in Baxley, Appling County, Georgia and died on 21 Sept 1964 at Bunnell General Hospital, Bunnell, Flagler County, Florida. Both are buried Espanola Cemetery, Espanola, Flagler CO, FL.

The family is listed on page 15 of the 1920 census of Flagler County. They had four children. See sketch on Robert Moody for detailed information on this family. .
