TOMMY BUCKNER KILLED IN ACTION IN ITALY DEC. 1

Pvt. TOMMY BUCKNER, former resident of Flagler county but who entered the army while residing in Duval County, was killed in action while serving with the United States Forces in Italy on December 1, 1943, according to a telegram received here this week by his brother, J. B. Buckner.

Private Buckner, who was in the infantry, had served with the army since February, 1943, and for the past four months served overseas.

He is survived by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. John Buckner of Palatka; four brothers, J. B. Buckner, Emory Buckner and Boone Buckner of Bunnell; and Alvin Buckner of Palatka. Also one sister, Mrs. Mary Yancy of New York City.
