THREE ADOPTED SONS IN SERVICE

JOHN EDWARD FEATHERS, U. S. Navy, writes his foster father, L. R. Ault of Haw Creek road, that on March 1st he was advanced to Chief Radioman at the navy yard radio station in Pearl Harbor.

Mr. Ault adopted John when he was 11 years of age, educated and reared him to manhood. John joined the navy six years ago and was at Pearl Harbor at the time of the Jap bombing, but escaped unharmed.

During the course of 27 years Ault adopted four of John's brothers, reared and educated them, two of whom are now serving in the army in North Africa.

VISITING FATHER NOW IN BARTOW

JOHN EDWARD FEATHERS, chief radio man, U. S. Navy, who recently returned to the States after a seven-year assignment in the Pacific and at Pearl Harbor, is spending a ten-day leave with his foster father, L. R. Ault, formerly of Bunnell but now in Bartow, Florida.

Since Chief Feathers returned to the United States last June he has been teaching radio at the Naval Radio School, University of Wisconsin at Madison and at Camp Crowder, Mo., but now has transferred to Norfolk, Va.

During his seven years in the Navy Feathers has had many exciting experiences, among which was the bombing of Pearl Harbor. He escaped uninjured.
