Robert Kirkland

October 12, 1944

Pfc. ROBERT KIRKLAND, husband of the former Miss Martha Clements who resides here, is a member of a unit which was given a letter of commendation from Lt. Col. Harvey F. Sellers in the Southwest Pacific for their work as “the advanced detail of the battalion from January 23 to February 4, 1944. The work of these men was exceptional in view of the limited period of time allowed for the preparation of the bivouac area in advance of the arrival of the troops.”
