Hubert Frier, "Bruz" Gordon, Johnny Mercer, BOBBY MOODY and Harold Emery have already taken their “screen out” medical examination. Pretty soon you guys may be having to retrain some of us old-timers - or soon it seems.

March 9, 1944

Johnny Mercer and BOBBY MOODY went to Blanding for their physical a couple of weeks ago. Johnny chose the army- - BOBBY the navy. Today Johnny told us he leaves here for induction at Atlanta March 20.

March 30, 1944

This week, BOBBY MOODY left for induction in the navy at Jacksonville.

May 4, 1944

Received a card this week from BOBBY MOODY, in the navy at Williamsburg, Va., saying “they say that a lesson learned is a lesson gained. Well, the knots you taught me to tie about 15 years ago are coming in mighty handy now. We are still having cold weather here…… I will see you about May 8."

May 11, 1944

Also spending a furlough here with relatives are Paul Forsyth and BOBBY MOODY who are in the Navy and have just completed their boot training.

May 18, 1944

BOBBY MOODY, Naval Seaman, left Tuesday afternoon to return to Williamsburg, Va., after a leave here with his family. He recently completed his boot training at Camp Peary.

June 1, 1944

BOBBY MOODY who recently completed his boot training at Camp Peary, Va., has been transferred to Norfolk, Va., and is now rated fireman second class.

August 17, 1944

BOBBY MOODY, who was with the Navy and stationed at Camp Peary, Va., has returned home with a medical discharge. Bobby had a fractured pelvis after a fall a number of years ago and, we understand, he received other injuries at camp which brought about his release.

April 5, 1945

BOBBY MOODY was taken to Welch Army Hospital in Daytona Beach Tuesday evening after sustaining a back injury when playing with his children on the lawn of his home.

An X-ray examination disclosed a displaced vertebra.

October 11, 1945
