We start off this week with a letter from LESLIE TUCKER, now in the Navy at San Diego. He writes:

“Thursday, Nov. 15.

How are things back in good old Bunnell? This place, out here, is really a place just to see but as for living I think they could give it back to the Indians. We are down in a valley between several mountains. It is somewhat like Florida in climate.

One of the best things they have here is horse racing. One can really see some pretty horses. I want to thank you a lot for the paper. I have read them over several times. I have been putting off this letter for a long time - now I am finally around to it.

I am in the butcher business here on the base. We cut meat for the entire base. We were feeding 20,000 men but most of them are gone now. We are now only feeding 7,000.

Well, the lights just went out and I will have at stop. Tell everyone hello fur me.
