Thursday, March 24, 1977 - - Jimmy E. Anderson, Flagler Beach resident and business man, was killed Monday night 15 miles south of St. Augustine when his 1976 Jaguar struck the side of a semi-tractor trailer which had failed to yield the right of way, according to the Florida Highway Patrol (FHP) office in St. Augustine.

FHP Trooper Paul Shinholster, investigating officer at the scene, stated Anderson was traveling north on U.S. 1 when a semi-tractor trailer driven by Richard E. Barnes, Sanford, failed to yield when attempting to turn south on US 1 from across the Border South Truck Stop.
