Ensign Hubert Beach, Jr., USN, 22-year-old pilot, crashed in his plane Saturday night, February 10, off the coast from the Charlestown, Rhode Island, navy flying base during maneuvers with his squadron. Neither the plane nor the body has been recovered.

The young pilot received his wings at Pensacola; a year ago next May, and was married at Vero Beach in June.

His father, Hubert Beach, Sr., recently arrived from the Aleutians, expected to be with his son on his birthday next Saturday, left by plane for Atlanta to be with the young wife on her arrival from Rhode Island to remain with relatives.

Ensign Beach spent the greater part of his life with his grandmother, Mrs. H. W. Beach, and vacationed with her at Flagler Beach where he was well known and loved.
