Edward M. Becknell, 26 died last Thursday morning in a Daytona Beach hospital where he was admitted Tuesday morning after sustaining serious injuries in an accident. The vehicle he was driving skidded on an icy pavement and turned over, pinning him under the machine.

A native of Ohio, he was in the U. S. Marine Corps several years, coming here after his discharge from service, with Carl Wright to make his home with Carl's parents, Mr. and Mrs. C. H. Wright. He had been employed at the Lehigh Portland Cement plant here two years.

Funeral services were held Saturday at 2 P. M. in the chapel of Baggett-McIntosh Funeral Home and he was buried in the Wright family plot at Cedar Cemetery in Daytona Beach.

Pallbearers were Graham Carl Wright, Dale Wright, R. E. Hart, John Drew, Lee Lineburger and Julius Powers. Employees of the cement plant were honorary pallbearers.
