Peter Bernet died Friday evening, July 11, at Glendale hospital in Palatka following an illness of two weeks.

He had been ill at his home in the Haw Creek section for about two weeks and was moved to the hospital Friday morning when his condition became grave.

Mr. Bernet was 68 years of age and was a native of France, although he spent the greater part of his life in the United States of which he was a naturalized citizen.

He lived in Flagler county for more than 20 years, and was engaged in farming. He came here from San Francisco where he had lived for a number of years.

Funeral services were held at the graveside in Espanola cemetery Sunday afternoon at two o’clock with Rev. W. R. Howell, pastor of the Bunnell Methodist Church, conducting the service. Carl Davis Funeral Chapel of Palatka was in charge of arrangements.

Pallbearers were K. K. Knight, Walter Cody, Frank Brooke, Bert Hamilton, Henry Wells and H. A. Eisenbach.
