Mrs. Edith Van Alstine Ames, 80, died Tuesday, September 15, at her home in Bridgeport, N. Y. it was learned here this week.

Mrs. Ames and her husband resided a number of years in the St. Johns Park community where she was active in community affairs and had many friends.

She was a charter member of Minoa Order of the Eastern Star at Bridgeport.

Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Fophionia Sleeth and Mrs. Willis Edwards; a sister, Mrs. Gertrude Thompson; a brother, Rutherford Billington; three grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren and several nieces.

Funeral services were held in the Bridgeport Methodist Church and interment was in Cicero Cemetery.
