Wilbur H Birkitt, a 70-year retired chief chemist for the Passic Rubber Co, of Wayne, N.J. who lived a 4 Felicia Court in Palm Coast, died Monday at Halifax Hospital in Daytona Beach.

Mr. Birkitt was born in Cambridge, Mass.

He and his widow, Laura, came to Palm Coast five years ago from Fairlawn, N.J. He was a member of the Flagler County Shrine Club and Masonic Lodge No. 113 in Ridgewood, N.J.

Survivors, in addition to his widow, include two sons and one brother. Services were conducted Tuesday at Craig Funeral Home in Bunnell, with Rev. Marcus Otterbein of St. Mark by the Sea Lutheran Church officiating. Burial will be tomorrow at Riverside Cemetery, Pawtucket, Rhode Island, where he made his home for many years.

In lieu of other remembrances, the family requests donations be made to the Shriner’s Cripple Children’s Hospital in care of the Flagler County Shrine Club, P. O. Box 200, Palm Coast 32037.
