THE FLAGLER TRIBUNE
Bunnell, Florida
Thursday, January 5, 1933

Word has been received here form Mrs. Amy Armstrong, of Toronto, Canada, daughter of Ernest Bliss of the death of her father in Detroit, Michigan on December 20, death being attributed to old age and complications incident thereto. Mr. Bliss was 71 years of age.

Mr. Bliss was a native of England; and lived in Canada a number of years before coming to Flagler County about 9 years ago. He left his home with his daughter, but was held up in Detroit by immigration authorities because of his long absence from that country. While he was in Detroit he was a patient in a semi-private hospital awaiting the completion necessary for his return back into Canada. His daughter stated that they had all arrangements completed for his entry the day of his death, and had just wired him a message informing him of the fact and received a wire from the hospital in a short time telling of his death.

The body was carried back to Toronto where a military funeral was held, the deceased being an old soldier of the United Kingdom. The interment was made in "Soldiers Plot,” Prospect Cemetery, Toronto.

Mrs. Armstrong, his daughter, wished to express her appreciation to all those who were so kind to her father while he was a resident of Flagler County.
