THE FLAGLER TRIBUNE
Bunnell, Florida
Thursday, August 1, 1929

According to a telegram received yesterday afternoon by J. A. Henderson, Mrs. Claude G. Varn, formerly of this place, but who recently moved to Butte, Mont., died about noon yesterday, death being attributed to complication arising during childbirth.

Mr. Henderson, who is a brotherin-law of Mrs. Varn, said this morning that the body of Mrs. Varn will be brought to Daytona Beach for burial, the journey from Butte will start about noon today, and arrival of the body is expected Monday afternoon or Monday night.

From an exchange of telegrams between Mr. Henderson and Mr. Varn it was leaned that Mrs. Varn's death was very sudden, and that the newly born baby girl is living and healthy. Four other children, all of tender age, survive their mother.

Mr. and Mrs. C. G. Varn lived here far a long period of years, where Mr. Varn was prominent in banking and law circles. About two years ago the family moved to Daytona Beach where Mr. Varn opened an additional law office, residing there until about three months ago when the family removed to Butte.

The family has many friends in all walks of life all over Florida and the sudden death of the wife and mother will be received with deep sorrow by those friends.
