Funeral services were held Monday at the Decoy Church at Bostwick for Alfred Roland Brooks, 59, who died Saturday in a Sanford hospital as a result of ptomaine poisoning.

Interment was made at the family cemetery at Bostwick.

Mr. Brooks was born at Bostwick but had made his home in Flagler county for the past 30 years. At the time of his death he was employed by W. D. LaVeille Construction Company in a construction project at Sanford. Mr. Brooks had been in Bunnell the weekend preceding his death.

Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Maddie Brooks of Bunnell; two daughters, Mrs. Lewis Woods of Bunnell and Mrs. E. R. Decker of New Smyrna Beach; four sons, Emery of Atlanta, Shelton and Lamar serving with the armed forces overseas, and Adolph of New Smyrna Beach; two sisters, Mrs. A. E. Guthrie of Green Cove Springs and Mrs. A W Durrance of Bunnell; three brothers, G. W. of Daytona Beach, J. J. of DeLand and H. H. of Bostwick. Nine grandchildren also survive.

Pallbearers were T. E. Holden, T. L King, J. S. Bray, D. D. Moody, Jesse Medders and W. H. Wells.
