E. L. Brown, father of Mrs. A. M. McDaniel of Bunnell, died at the McDaniel home on Howe Street early Tuesday morning following an illness of about a year.

Mr. Brown, who was 76 years of age, was a native of Georgia, but lived most of his life in Sanford, Florida, where he owned and operated a celery farm for many years.

Although he had been in failing health for the last ten years, he had been confined to his bed for about year as a result of in­juries sustained in a fall. He had made his home here with Mr. and Mrs. McDaniel for about six years.

Mr. Brown is survived by four daughters, Mrs. A. M. McDaniel of Bunnell; Mrs. W. T. Mitchell and Mrs. G. C. Spearing of Sarasota; and Mrs. H. A. McMichael of Atlanta, Georgia; one son, Collier Brown of Sanford; and one sister, Mrs. J.L. Sparks of Shilo, Georgia. Also surviving are six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were held at ten o'clock this morning in the Erikinson Funeral Home in Sanford with the pastor of the Methodist Church there officiating.

Burial will be made in the family lot there.
