Elmer E. Myers, 39, and Grady Lee Burke, 22, died early Wednesday as a result of a rear end collision of trucks just north of Bunnell on U. S. Highway No.1. Robert Burke, 24, is in serious condition in the local hospital The accident occurred about 1 A. M.

From best information obtainable, Myers, a chief petty officer of the U. S. Navy, had stopped to change a tire on a pickup truck he apparently was driving when it was struck from behind by a semi-tailer truck occupied by Robert and Grady Lee Burke, cousins from Millen, Ga.

Myers had legs and arms crushed and internal injuries it was reported. He was taken to the Flagler Clinic and Hospital here where he died about 8 a. m. A Navy ambulance came to and claimed the body.

Craig Funeral Home of Bunnell, where the body of Grady Lee Burke was taken, said that the Burke's relatives from Millen had been notified and that they were coming to Bunnell.

Wreckers belonging to Odel Hersey and Virgil Decker were called to the accident scene and it required several hours by both crews to clear the wreckage. It was some time before the Burke men could be extricated, from the cab of the overturned semi-trailer.

This wreck occurred a short distance from another that happened two weeks ago when one big truck ran into the rear of another. One truck occupant is still in the local hospital in serious condition, it was reported today, but is expected to recover.
