Bunnell, Florida
Thursday, April 12, 1951

Graveside funeral services were held this afternoon at 2 p.m. for G. C. Burnsed, 67, with Rev. Johnny Wheeler, pastor of the Flagler Beach Baptist Church officiating.

Mr. Burnsed who had lived in the area all of his life and was for several years bridge tender at Flagler Beach, was killed early Tuesday morning on State Highway A1A in Flagler Beach while walking to work. He was struck by a car driven by Mrs. Hester Ann Luke Jahnz of Leesburg, Va.

An inquest was held Wednesday morning, the jury rendering a verdict of “unavoidable accident.” The accident, which was investigated by Sheriff Henry Wells and Deputy Sheriff Eddie Irwin, indicated that Burnsed apparently did not see the approaching car and stepped into its path. He was dead when assistance arrived.

Mr. Burnsed, who had been residing at Flagler Beach with his sister, Miss Gloria Burnsed, is also survived by a brother, Edward Burnsed, West Palm Beach, several nephews and nieces.

Pallbearers are George Wickline, George Moody, Philip Johnson, Leaston Pellicer, E. A. Hunter and W. H. Wells
