John W. Campbell, 61, business and political leader of Palatka, died November 27, in a hospital there. Mr. Campbell was a native of Punxatawney, Penna., and had resided in Florida for over 30 years.

He operated the Florida Drainage and Construction Company and was active in drainage affairs of various areas. He held at one time extensive lands in this county and was well known to businessmen here.

He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Margaret Campbell; two daughters, Mrs. John E. Millican and Mrs. William T. Spalding, all of Palatka.

Funeral services were held in the First Presbyterian Church in Palatka last Saturday morning. The body was sent to Jacksonville for cremation.
