Calvin Porter Claxton, 65, of Chevy Chase, Md., passed away at noon Tuesday at a Flagler Beach Motor Court after suffering a heart attack.

Mr. Claxton was Chief of Education of Foreign Aid, State Department in Washington. He and his wife were vacationing in Flagler Beach.

He is survived by his wife, Evelyn M. Claxton; one daughter, Claire Claxton, Durham, N. C.; two sons, Dr. C. Porter Claxton, Jr., Durham, and Brooks Claxton of Langley Air Force Base, Va. Also surviving are four sisters, one brother, and three grandchildren.

The body was forwarded Tuesday night to Knoxville, Tenn., where the Mann Funeral Home will be in charge of funeral services Friday.

Craig Funeral Home of Bunnell Was in charge of local arrangements.
