Mrs. Carlton Johnston was called to Savannah, Ga. Sunday by the death of her mother, Mrs. Alice Clark. Funeral services were held there Tuesday morning.

Mrs. Johnston was accompanied to Savannah by Mr. and Dwayne Metts, Mrs. Bill Bark­er, and Johnny Metts.

Mrs. Alice Clifton Clark of Savannah, Ga., mother of Mrs. Carlton Johnston of Bunnell passed away February 4th, after a long illness.

She was the widow of the late John W. Clark, and was a native of Millen, Ga., and had lived in Savannah for the past 25 years. She was a member of Trinity Methodist Church of Savannah. She was 84 years of age. .

Funeral services were held at 11:30 Tuesday morning, February 6, in the Chapel of Irvine Henderson Funeral Home. Rev. James C. Varnell, pastor of Trinity Methodist Church, officiated. Interment followed at the Methodist Cemetery in Portal, Ga., at 2 o'clock Tuesday afternoon. Active pallbearers were her grand­sons.

Survivors are two sons, R. L. and B. S. Clark; four daughters, Mrs. G. H. Remley and Mrs. Robert Williams both of Savannah; Mrs. B. A. Hendrix of Statesboro, Ga., and Mrs. Carlton Johnston of Bunnell; five brothers, T. W., G. W., and William Clifton, all of Statesboro; R. R. Clifton of Savannah, and Tom Clifton of Kingsland, Ga.; a sis­ter, Mrs. W. W. Waters of Statesboro.

Also surviving are sixteen grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
