George E. Cook of DeLand, father of H. T. Cook of Bunnell, passed away Friday afternoon at the Fish Memorial Hospital where he had been a patient for six days. He was a retired engineer for the Florida Power Corporation and a lifelong resident of West Volusia County. He was 81 years of age and was a member of the Stetson Baptist Church.

Funeral services were held at 10 a. m. Monday morning at the Summerhill Memorial Chapel with Rev. Hugh Hawkins officiating. Burial was in Oakdale.

Survivors include his wife, Clara M. Cook, DeLand; 4 sons, H. T. Cook of Bunnell, Harry Cook of Daytona Beach, J. M. Cook of Mayo, and Edward Cook of DeLand; 3 daughters, Mrs. Gilmore Anderson of DeLand, Mrs. Alice Monaco of Daytona Beach, and Mrs. E. T. Turner of Raleigh, N. C.; a sister, Mrs. May Jordan of Starke. Also surviving are 15 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
