George E. Cooper, age 84, died here Wednesday after a short illness at his home on Moody Road from old age and general debility.

The deceased was born June 24, 1844 in New York City, coming to Bunnell in 1917 where he has since made his home. He was a member of the local Methodist church and was a member of the 127th New York State Volunteers of the G. A. R.

Mr. Cooper was married July 18, 1866 to Miss Anna Babcock at Patterson, N. J. Three children were born to them, two of whom survive, George and Frank while Ella died some years ago.

Funeral service was held at the Methodist church at three o'clock this afternoon, Rev. John E. Hartsfield, pastor, conducting the service. The pallbearers were T. E. Holden, L. A. Jett, W. C. Sullivan, B. Browning, J. J. McLanahan and A. M. McDaniel. Arrangements have been made to ship the body to Englewood, New Jersey for burial.

Mr. Cooper was known to many as a pious, gentle and altogether a lovable character whose passing on will be a sad memory.
