James O. Craig, 54, North Lemon Street, Bunnell, died Saturday night at Bunnell General Hospital after suffering a heart attack Thursday.

A native of Blytheville, Arkansas he moved to Flagler County 12 years ago from Brooksville, Florida.

He served as superintendent of the Flagler County Board of Public Instruction from January 1969 to February 1972, when he resigned due to health reasons. He was currently employed as supervising principal for the Flagler County School System. He was a Veteran of World War II; lifetime member of DAV Jim Booe Chapter 86; mem­ber of the Bunnell First Baptist Church; and a member of Florida Educational Association.

Survivors include his wife, Opal; a daughter, Mrs. Carol Deen, Belle Glade; two sons, John, Miami; and James, West Palm Beach; his mother, Mrs. H. E. Craig, Jonesboro, Arkansas; a sister, Mrs. Nan Watson, Kansas City, Mo.; a brother, Everett, Essex, Mo.; and two granddaughters, Caroline and Kathleen Deen, both of Belle Glade.

Funeral services were Tuesday afternoon at 2:00 in the Bunnell First Baptist Church with the Reverend Donald Foster, pastor, as­sisted by the Reverend William Peterson, Flagler Beach United Methodist Church, officiating. Interment was at Espanola Cemetery.

Active pallbearers were Donnie Moore, Jim Cook, Cary Holland, Charles Chambers, Jeff Seale and Ted Panchella. Honorary pallbearers were H. T. Cook, David Cook, Z. D. Holland, Z. D. Holland, Jr., Travis Chambers, Theo Hein, Keene Gurnee, Walter Morris, A B. Johnston, Averley Brown, Cecil Westbrook, LeHarve Young, Dale Brown, Sam Broadaway, Ray Carle and C. B. Eisenbach.
