Mr. Charles Lincoln Davis Jr., 67, of Flagler Beach died May 4 after a lengthy illness.

Mr. Davis, a retired chemical engineer, had won seven national awards in environmental controls for the paper industry.

He was a graduate of New Orleans Military Academy and Tulane University with postgraduate work at Massachusetts Institute of Technology.

Professionally licensed in Florida, Georgia, Alabama and Louisiana, he was a member of the National Council on Stream Improvements, American Institute of Chemical Engineering and the Technical Association of Pulp and Paper Industry.

Survivors include his widow, Clydie Prosser Davis; 3 daughters; 3 sons and 13 grandchildren.

A memorial service was held at 2 p.m. Sunday at Flagler Beach United Methodist Church where Mr. Davis was a member.
