Second Lt. Edward E. Dicker, stationed with the Army at Fort Bragg, N. C., was found dead Saturday morning in his car parked off Highway AlA near the old coast guard station location 2 miles south of Flagler Beach.

The body was found by Walter Girvin of Daytona Beach who reported it to Flagler County Deputy Sheriff Walter Eberhardinger.

The deputy said the apparent cause of death was suicide, as a hose had been connected to the tailpipe of the car and into the car. The dead man left a note asking that his parents, Dr. and Mrs. E. M. Dicker of Long Island City, N. Y., be notified.

Deputy Eberhardinger said he had talked to Lt. Dicker the previous Thursday afternoon when Dicker asked Eberhardinger if it would be permissible to park his car there for the night.

Lt. Dicker's parents came to Daytona Beach Saturday to identify the body and make arrangements for cremation. Woodward and Lawler were in charge of the arrangements.
