THE FLAGLER TRIBUNE
Bunnell, Florida
Thursday, April 17, 1930

James D. DuPont, life-long resident of this section of Florida, residing at Moultrie, died Thursday night at the home of his son, Lee DuPont, in St. Augustine. Funeral services were held Sunday afternoon at 3 o’clock at Pellicer Creek Cemetery.

Mr. DuPont is survived by a widow, four sons, Ellis, Lee, Horace and Jack, two daughters, Mrs. W. M. McMillan of Rock Bluff and Mrs. Seth Carter of St. Johns County, also several brothers and sisters.

In the passing of Mr. Dupont another pioneer of Florida is lost. He and his relatives were among the first settlers in this part of Florida. The DuPont’s are descendants of the original French Huguenots who settled in large numbers along the coast in the early part of the fifteenth century.
