Mrs. Alta G. Bortree, 72, passed away Sunday afternoon at the Glendale Hospital in Palatka, after an illness of several weeks, following a slight stroke.

Mrs. Bortree was a native of Pennsylvania, although she had been a resident of Florida for many years, making her home in Miami and Bunnell where she had many friends and acquaintances.

Funeral services were held Monday afternoon at the Davis Funeral Home in Palatka, many friends of the deceased from Bunnell attending. The services were conducted by Rev. J. B. Culpepper, Jr., pastor of the Bunnell Methodist church.

At the conclusion of the services in Palatka, the body was shipped to Scranton, Pa., interment being held at that place Thursday morning.

The deceased is survived by three daughters, Mrs. R. J. Lenzer and Mrs. E. G. Hoffman, of Scranton, Pa., and Mrs. T. E. Holden, of Bunnell; one brother, Tom Ergood of New York, and one sister also living in New York. The grandchildren are Altamae and Delberta Lenzer, of Scranton, and Eleanor and Alta Jane Holden, of Bunnell.
