According to advises received here, Mrs. Bertha A. (Elliott) Benson, of George R. Benson of the Haw Creek district, died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. S. A. Walker, in Daytona Beach, Friday, December 10. Mrs. Benson was born October 3, 1872, near Hamilton, Ontario, Canada. Her passing occurred at 1:35 in the morning after an illness of only five minutes.

Mrs. Benson joined her husband on their farm near here in March, having lived for some time previous in Chicago, Ill., and was just completing a two weeks' visit with her daughters at the time of her demise.

Besides her husband, she is survived by her mother, three brothers, one sister, three sons, G. Royal of Grand Forks, O. D., Joel Harry of St. Louis, Mo., Hazen M. of Bunnell, and two daughters, Miss C. Leotah and Mrs. S. A. Walker, Both of Daytona Beach, as well as seven grandchildren.

The funeral services were held Monday afternoon at 1:30 at the Bingham-Maley Chapel, Daytona Beach, with interment at Crescent City. The services were in charge of Mr. A. T. Reynolds, first reader of the First Church o£ Christ, Scientist, of Daytona Beach. Mrs. Franklin N. Wood sang a beautiful solo, and at the conclusion of this simple but impressive service, a beautiful poem was read, written by Joel Harry Benson, a son of the deceased.
