THE FLAGLER TRIBUNE
Bunnell, Florida
Thursday, July 24, 1924

Chas. Ernsberger who was en route south with his brother, F. Ernsberger, was hit and killed by a Ford car early Wednesday morning about eight miles north of Espanola, just north of Flagler county line. Ernsberger lived only a short time after the car had passed over his body, which. it is said, caused his death.

Mr. Ernsberger was about 70 years of age and he and his brother were walking to the southern part of Florida where they expected to spend the coming winter.

It was stated to The Tribune that the driver of the Ford car never retreated after the accident but kept right on his course with good speed and his whereabouts has not been learned up to this time.

The body was carried to St. Augustine, from which point relatives of the dead man, who live in Pittsburgh, Pa., were notified of the accident.
