John W. Green, 80, 101 Daytona Ave. Flagler Beach, died Wednesday at Halifax Hospital.

A native of Acworth, Ga. he retired from the insurance business in Atlanta, Ga. in 1945 and moved to Flagler Beach to re-open and operate the Flagler Beach Hotel, a landmark on the Fla. East Coast during the early 1920's. He also engaged in buying and selling Real Estate, and sold the Flagler Beach Hotel in 1974.

Mr. Green was a member of the Board of Directors of the Bank of Flagler Beach. During World War I he served the American Expeditionary Forces in France and was also a veteran of World War II. He was a 32nd degree Mason for 55 years, and a member of Lodge No. 200 of Bunnell, also a Rotarian for 50 years, and was a member of the Bunnell Rotary Club.

Survivors include his wife, Mabel; one son Walter M., Daytona Beach; two sisters, Mrs. Una Durham, Swainsboro, Ga.; and Mrs. Irma Parker, Flagler Beach; three grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Graveside Funeral services were held Saturday at Chandler, Fla. Haigh-Black Funeral Home Ormond Beach was in charge of arrangements.
