Walter Maurice Green, 55, 287 Boylston Ave., Daytona Beach, flight instructor and flight progress check pilot at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University since 1966, died Thursday at his home. An autopsy has been ordered.

Mr. Green, a native of Atlanta, Georgia, moved here in 1977 from New Orleans. He received a certificate of appreciation from Daytona Beach Exchange Club for “service to Humanity” for four relief flights to Nicaragua during the earthquake. Mr. Green, an Army Air Corps pilot during World War II, was a member of Quiet Birdmen Fraternity, Daytona Beach Hangar; Airlines Pilots Association and an honorary member of Alpha Eta Rho Fraternity. He has served as charter pilot with Johnston Aircraft Corp., Atlanta; captain with Southern Airways, Atlanta and charter pilot with Mid-Florida Aviation, Ocala.

Survivors include his widow, Nan; a son, Walter McClain Green, Daytona Beach; two daughters, including Belle F., Daytona Beach; his mother, Mrs. Mabel Green, Flagler Beach, and a grandson.

The family requests donations be made to the Walter Maurice Green Scholarship Fund, University Relations Office, Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University. Haigh-Black, Ormond Beach was in charge.
