William Thomas Guess, about 75 years of age, was found dead last Sunday morning in a barn on the Dr. Ross farm in Bimini. M. R. Teters, deputy sheriff here, said the body was found by Thomas Bertha, farmer residing near the Ross farm. It was estimated that the man had been dead from three to five weeks.

A coroner’s jury called to the scene rendered an opinion that the man had died from unknown causes. The body was placed in charge of a St. Augustine funeral home.

Identification was obtained through social security number found on the body. It was ascertained that he had lived at New Smyrna Beach since about 1912, but was a native of DeKalb County, Georgia.
