John S. Haley, 60, former police officer and more recently tender of the Main Street Bridge in Daytona Beach, died this afternoon at 5:45 o'clock in the Halifax Hospital after a short illness.

A native of Franklin County, Ga., Mr. Haley moved to Daytona Beach from Bunnell, where he had resided for several years. He came to Bunnell in 1925 and engaged in the abstract business. . Later he ran for county judge in the Democratic primary and was nominated, but was defeated in the general election by George R. Benson, who died several years ago.
 
He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Mary T. Haley; two sons, William Haley of Daytona Beach and T. A. Haley of Ft. Lauderdale; and one daughter, Mrs. W. T. Glosson of LaGrange, Ga.

Funeral services will be held Friday afternoon at 4 o’clock from the chapel of Haigh and Brooks with the Rev. R. W. Dickert officiating. The body will be taken to Orlando for cremation.
