Funeral services for Robert Hamilton, 89, was held from the First Baptist Church Wednesday afternoon at 2 o'clock, with Rev. E. W. Ware officiating. Interment followed in Eden Cemetery at Crescent City. Garcia Funeral Home of St. Augustine was in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Hamilton, one of the early settlers in this area, died early Monday morning at the home of his granddaughter, Mrs. Margaret Weeks on Deen Road. He had been ill for several years.

Mr. Hamilton, a native of Scotland, came to the United States when 16 years of age. He came to Flagler County from Palouse, Washington. He had been engaged in the live­stock business in Washington State for a number of years before coming here.

He was a member of the Presbyterian Church; a member of Lodge 25, IOOF, in St. Augustine, and had been active in the political life of Flagler County a number of years. He was at one time road superintendent and later a member of the board of county commissioners for several terms. . His son, Bert Hamilton who died in December 1953, also had been a member of the county board, and was at the time of his death.

Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Bessie Darling, Palouse, Washington; Mrs. Annie Salyerds of Bunnell; five granddaughters, and a number of nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Hamilton died 21 years ago and is buried in the Crescent City Cemetery.
