Funeral services for Mrs. Mary Bertha, 64-year-old resident of the Bimini section, were held Wednesday afternoon at two o’clock from the Presbyterian Church in Palatka, Rev. John W. Largent, pastor, officiated. Rev. H. B. Murdock, pastor of the Bunnell Methodist Church, assisted.
Interment was in Woodlawn Cemetery in Palatka, with Davis Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Bertha, a native of Hungary, was born July 17, 1884. She came to the United States in 1910, moving with her family to Flagler County in 1927.
She is survived by her husband, Thomas Bertha of Bunnell; one daughter, Mrs. Dorothy Sykes of St. Augustine; two sons, Robert Bertha of Bunnell, and Andrew Borney of Daytona Beach; two brothers, Antol Hovath and Bolit Hovath, and one sister, Elizabeth Gocsalye, all of Tescebes, Hungary. Five grandchildren also survive.
Active pallbearers were J. F. Campbell, W. W. Deen, Curtis Deen, A. B. Johnston, Cordell Robertson and Lloyd Robertson.
Honorary pallbearers were: C. E. Eisenbach, Ed Copeland, W. E. Simmons, Roy Germany, Eddie Pellicer, A. Nilson, W. H. Cobb, Hugh Cobb, and L. O. Robertson.
