THE FLAGLER TRIBUNE
Bunnell, Florida
Thursday, May 24, 1923

Tuesday evening Major Lambert received the following wire from Mrs. Beckie Health, wife of Judge W. C. Heath:

Arlington, Texas
10:45 a.m. May 22

Major Lambert
Bunnell, Florida

Chap Killed instantly by train today. Burial tomorrow.

Beckie

Thus briefly was conveyed the message that saddened the hears of many of our citizens Wednesday morning when the contents of the wire was made known by Major Lambert, a near and dear friend of the deceased.

Judge Heath was for several years a resident of this section and was prominent in .its business and political circles. He was the county's first probate judge and served in that capacity until his eyesight failed.

At one time he was Worshipful Master of the local lodge of Masons and a most active worker in that field, as well as being active in the church work. Ho was one of the prime movers in the obtaining of the new county of Flagler and as its county judge an indefatigable in its interests.

In this section his friends were numbered by his acquaintances who all delighted in honoring him. It was the ill health and almost total failure of his eyesight that caused Judge Heath and his most estimable wife to remove to Texas where they had relatives. At the time of his death both he and Mrs. Heath were inmates or the Home for the Aged in Arlington, Texas, and it is with deep sorrow and sincere regret that his friends here learn the sad tidings of his demise.
